DC Tour’s native Spanish guide Jessica Barreda, tells us a little about herself and how she came to be living and tour guiding in Belfast. Off camera she was also happy to share some of her things to do and places to go too:
My favourite restaurant:
Scalini in Botanic Avenue, their chocolate fudge cake is to die for…
My favourite café:
Belvedere Cafe Restaurant on the Cregagh Road. Coffee and food are top class.
My favourite bar:
The Errigle on the Ormeau Road, my local bar.
Favourite thing to do with the kids:
Go on our bikes to explore the city.
Favourite building:
Stormont Parliament. I think it’s absolutely stunning and I love the whole park too.
Favourite museum:
The Folk & Transport Museum (especially the Folk museum) and the Ulster Museum (I’ve been here a million times with the children but I still love it).
Favourite escape from the city:
The North Coast, I love exploring the Antrim coastal route all the way to Giant’s Causeway and beyond.
Where are the hidden gems?
Our favourite nature spots in the city are the Cregagh Glen and Shaw’s Bridge. Both have amazing routes through nature, and you can’t beat the coffee at the Lock Keepers Inn at Shaw’s Bridge!
