Self Guided Tours

Self Guided Tours

We are discontinuing our self guided tours. All tours are now free to download and use until the 30th November – after that the app and tours will not work.

Self guided audio tours let you explore Belfast and beyond at your own pace. They are packed with historical information, pictures, audio and even video. And the gps mapping system allows you to take total control of your experience.

How does it work?

Simply download our free app from the App Store or Google Play and search for ‘DC Tours Belfast’. Then choose from the range of free and premium tours in the menu! Once you have paid for the tour, just download it to your device and you’ll be ready to go.

The West Belfast Self Guided Tour – ‘West Belfast: Peacewalls, Murals and More’

Our first self-guided tour is: ‘West Belfast: Peacewalls, Murals and More’. It’s an indepth overview of the history of the Troubles in West Belfast. It perfectly complements ‘A History of Terror’, our guided city centre walking tour.  The tour is available in English, French and Spanish.

There are over 30 stops across West Belfast along a suggested 2.5 hour route. You’ll visit 16 of the most famous murals, memorial gardens and peacewalls in the Falls and Shankill districts. It is an indispensable companion for anyone venturing into West Belfast to discover the stories of its streets and communities.

There’s a bit about the Troubles and the Titanic too, of course!  The full trail is 3 miles and lasts just over 2.5 hours, making it a perfect way to spend a morning or afternoon in Belfast.  The tour is available in English, French and Spanish.

‘Your Belfast’

Our latest self-guided tour is ‘Your Belfast’, an immersive (and free) self-guided tour of Belfast city centre. You’ll also learn about the resilience and regeneration of the city and the unique spirit of its citizens.

Just open a stop and choose from audio, video or text to discover the hidden history that surrounds you. Then click on the hotspot button to access a panoramic photo with up to 10 embedded hotspots showing points of interest. These allow you to delve even deeper into the little-known stories and history of each location.

You’ll also find additional information about 18 great places to eat along the way, as well as 12 of our favourite historic Belfast pubs. You even get information on how to access our public bicycle network!
